Popular with customers, easy to implement, and with no transaction fees – these are QR code payments. In today’s guide, we’ll show you how to easily and quickly implement QR payments in your WooCommerce store.
Benefits of QR payments
We’ve already mentioned some of them in the introduction, but there are more.
- Faster bank transfers: Most customers pay immediately after the QR code is displayed.
- More completed orders: Faster payments reduce the number of orders that are never paid.
- No transaction fees: No percentage fees or fixed charges will reduce your profit. You only invest in the implementation.
- Customer popularity: QR codes are popular thanks to their simplicity and security.
- Easy setup: With the right plugin, everything can be configured with just a few clicks—no programming knowledge required.
How to implement QR payments?
To offer your customers QR code payments, you will need a plugin that can generate QR codes and display them to customers at the right moment. In our case, we will use the Toret QR Payments plugin.
1. Purchase, install, and activate the Toret QR Payments plugin. If you’re not sure how, our plugin documentation will guide you.

Toret QR Payments
Simple QR code payments with extensive customization options
With the Toret QR Payments plugin, you can automatically generate a QR code for payment in your store and display it to customers at the right time – on the thank you page, in an email, or on an invoice. The plugin supports Czech and Slovak bank transfers, SEPA payments, multiple currencies with separate accounts, and other useful features.
2. First, you need to set up the Bank transfer payment method (default WooCommerce – BACS), or Account payment (Toret – PNU). You can do this in WooCommerce payment settings: WooCommerce > Settings > Checkout > Offline payments (Take Offline payments) > Bank transfer
Enable the payment method, enter its title and description, and add your bank account(s). Multiple accounts are useful if you accept payments in multiple currencies. Save your changes.

3. Now continue with the plugin settings. You’ll find them in Toret plugins > QR Payments. Select the payment methods for which you want to display QR codes. You can select multiple methods by holding the Ctrl key while clicking. Save.

4. Next, choose the source for the variable symbol that will be assigned to the payment. You can use the order number, order ID, custom fields, or supported invoicing plugins.

5. Then simply configure the QR code properties, such as the text displayed next to the code, its size, the payment message for the recipient, …

…visibility of payment details, …

…and the visibility of the QR code itself. These settings depend entirely on your preferences and needs.

6. If you want to accept payments in multiple currencies, enable the Display QR code only for selected currency option and assign accounts to the respective currencies. This ensures the correct account is used for each currency.

7. Don’t forget to save all changes.
Done! You now have the QR Payments plugin implemented in your store. As you can see, everything can be set up easily without programming knowledge. Before going live, we recommend testing everything thoroughly—and then you can look forward to seeing how your customers respond to this new payment method.
