One Stop Shop (OSS), also known as the special single administrative point scheme, is designed to simplify VAT reporting and payments. For e-shop owners selling products within the EU, this scheme represents a significant simplification. Thanks to OSS, they can submit a single VAT return in one member state instead of registering and paying VAT separately in each country.
However, alongside its advantages, OSS also introduces new invoicing requirements that must be met. In today’s guide, we will show you how to implement the One Stop Shop scheme and these requirements in your WooCommerce store.
How does One Stop Shop work?
The One Stop Shop includes three schemes – the Union scheme, the Import scheme, and the non-Union scheme. If you are required to pay VAT in another EU country, OSS allows you to do so without registering for VAT in that specific country. You pay VAT only in the EU country where you are registered under the OSS scheme.
Registration for the One Stop Shop scheme is voluntary and can be completed online via the MOJE Daně (My Taxes) portal.
Invoicing under the One Stop Shop scheme
Although OSS allows you to submit a unified EU VAT return and pay VAT in your country of registration, you must still apply the VAT rates of individual countries. When invoicing abroad, you therefore need to state the correct VAT rate according to the customer’s country and the product category. For this reason, you will need invoicing software that supports the One Stop Shop regime.
How to set up One Stop Shop invoicing in WooCommerce?
This is a guide for setting up One Stop Shop using the Fakturoid plugin. Prefer iDoklad? We have a guide for it here >>
One of the tools that enables invoicing in WooCommerce while supporting the One Stop Shop regime is Fakturoid. To use it for invoicing, you will need a Fakturoid account with a plan that supports API integration. You can connect it to WooCommerce using the Fakturoid plugin.
1. Purchase the Fakturoid plugin, install it, and connect it to your Fakturoid account. Our documentation will guide you through the process.
2. In the plugin settings (WooCommerce > Settings > Fakturoid), in the Additional settings section, locate the OSS mode field and select whether your OSS scheme applies to services or goods.

3. In the following field, you can select the VAT control statement code. Available options include:
– Do not fill in
– Supply of goods to an EU VAT payer
– Transfer of business assets to the EU
– Intra-EU supply of goods – triangular transaction
– Provision of services within the EU – reverse charge

4. Save your changes.
5. Check the OSS settings in your Fakturoid account. You can find them in app.fakturoid.cz > Settings > Taxes and accounting. More details are available directly in the Fakturoid guide.
Your OSS regime is now configured for your invoices. When invoicing abroad, the correct VAT rate will be automatically assigned to invoice items. If multiple VAT rates are available for a given country, you can manually adjust the invoice and select a different rate if needed.
Simplify invoicing in your online store and issue invoices in just a few clicks – or fully automatically – with the Fakturoid plugin.
